To Your Health Cold FoodGallins Foods is proud to offer a variety of better-for-you items in our cold food machines.  These items all bear the “To Your Health” label to make them easier to find in the machine.  These items include fresh fruits and vegetables, salads, wraps, and sandwiches that are healthier alternatives to other items you might find in a cold food machine.

Healthier Choices = Healthier You

This new program helps you find better-for-you alternatives in our snack machines.  Items denoted with the Healthier Choices = Healthier You label are recommended because they provide some or all of the following general health benefits:

  • Fill up with fiber – The health benefits of fiber are widely recognized by health & science experts and include improvements in gastrointestinal health, blood sugar levels, and insulin response.  Fiber is also known to reduce the risk of obesity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and some cancers.
  • Avoid saturated fat – Saturated fats increase your total cholesterol levels and are generally associated with an increased risk of heart disease
  • Control sodium intake – Too much sodium in your diet affects your body’s fluid balance and can lead to serious health problems like high blood pressure, kidney disease, and heart disease.
  • Temper added sugar consumption – Many sugars occur naturally in foods like fruit and milk, but added sugars do not occur naturally and are added during processing.  They add calories with little nutrition, which can lead to weight gain and prevent you from consuming more nutritious foods.
  • Step-up your Potassium intake – The human body needs Potassium to help muscles contract, maintain fluid balance, and maintain normal blood pressure.  Normal Potassium levels help keep the heart beating regularly and may reduce the risk of kidney stones and bone loss as you age.
