Gallins Foods is proud to be one of North Carolina's premier food service providers.  Whether it's vending, coffee, catering, a corporate deli or cafe, everything we do shares one thing in common: the Gallins Foods commitment to complete satisfaction and dedication to freshness, cleanliness and service.  Many companies can promise this, but we follow through by implementing procedures that ensure the highest quality products and services are delivered to our customers each and every day.

Old MachinesIt all starts with the people we hire: they are the foundation on which satisfaction is built.  Because the people who work for Gallins Foods care about the customer and are willing to spend extra time and energy to see that customers receive the very best, we can deliver the high level of satisfaction that we promise, and that our customers have come to expect, each and every day.  Our employees are thoroughly trained so that they are knowledgeable about what our customers expect and how to exceed those expectations on a daily basis.

Service Standards

Every driver at Gallins Foods is NAMA certified to ensure they stay up-to-date on the latest policies and procedures in the vending industry to keep them accurate, thorough, fast, and safe in the service they provide to our valuable customers.  They are reliable and consistent, and they also play a significant role in determining what items are placed in each machine at each account.  They interact with and listen to our customers on a daily basis, addressing questions, requests, and any problems that may occur.  If they are unable to provide a solution, they can quickly relay the information to their supervisor who will contact the customer and resolve the issue.  Drivers have a vested interest in the service they provide because they know that the satisfaction of the customers on their routes affects their income, so they take ownership of their routes and responsibility for providing customers with the best possible care.

Maintenance Standards

Every Maintenance Technician at Gallins Foods is certified, and someone is always available: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Our technicians work hard to keep our machines in optimal working order, but as with any machine, malfunctions do sometimes occur.  When they do, the average response time for a service call is 60 minutes or less, so customers receive not only the best, most thorough service, but also the fastest in the area.  In addition, we monitor the service records of every machine we operate so that if one becomes consistently problematic, it will be replaced with a new one.

Sanitation Standards

Our sanitation standards apply to every aspect of our operations, from vending and coffee to catering and corporate food service.  We regularly clean and maintain our vending and coffee machines to maintain a healthy environment in your breakroom, and our cafes and delis stay up to code on all health and sanitation requirements.  We also take the necessary steps to ensure that all of our food service managers complete a training program to receive certification from ServSafe, a nationally recognized and accredited food safety training institution.

Our History

In 1948, Gallins Vending Company started doing business in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. At first we provided just sundry items distributed through vending machines, but quickly grew to satisfy the growing demand of a population on the go.  From snacks, food, hot coffee and cold drinks, we grew based on our commitment to offering superior freshness, cleanliness, unsurpassed service and an understanding of an ever-changing American culture.  In 2004, we changed our name and the scope of our business to better satisfy the American appetite. Today, as Gallins Foods, we have expanded and created new concepts in the food service industry.

Old MachinesThough we have grown into a successful full-service food company, we are still a local company, and we have not forgotten the important people and steps that allowed us to arrive where we are today:

1948 - Gallins Cigarette Service is founded by Gus and John Gallins

1950 - Gallins Cigarette Service moves into its first building on First Street in downtown Winston-Salem

1957 - Gallins Cigarette Service becomes Gallins Vending Company, Inc, a full-line vending company

1959 - Gallins Vending Company moves into a new facility on Stadium Drive near Winston-Salem State University

Loading Old Truck1966 - Gallins begins making fresh food in a commissary at their Stadium Drive location

Early 1970's - The second generation of Gallins family members joins the company, and coffee service becomes an essential offering of Gallins Vending Company, Inc

1990 - Gus Gallins retires

1995 - Gallins Vending Company, Inc  begins to add food service, including catering and dine-in cafes and delis

1998 - Gallins Vending Company, Inc celebrates its 50th Anniversary

1999 - John Gallins retires

1999 - Gallins Vending Company, Inc, while still family owned, became professionally managed/operated

2001 - Gallins Vending Company, Inc begins using Crane Streamware, beginning a commitment to stay on the cutting edge of vending technology

2003 - Gallins Vending Company, Inc moves to its current location, 3195 Centre Park Blvd, still in Winston-Salem

2004 - Gallins Vending Company, Inc became Gallins Foods, Inc to better encompass the array of service provided

2005 - John Fourqurean becomes President of Gallins Foods, bringing more food service knowledge and experience to the company

2008 - Gallins Foods celebrates its 60th Anniversary
